2 Part 1: Individual Whether or not it is written or verbally articulated, everyone has an idea or belief system about leadership that influences their behavior as a leader and a follower. Many factors combine that inform your leadership philosophy. Discuss your personal beliefs, values, experiences, and current leadership principles and trends that influence your leadership philosophy. In 3-5 sentences clearly articulate your personal leadership philosophy. This should begin with, "My philosophy of leadership is " Describe how your leadership philosophy relates to the position and the organization within which you currently work. How does it affect the work you do, how you make decisions, and the culture you promote? My philosophy of leadership is visible, reliable, trustworthy, transparent, caring, and authentic. It is vital to partner with my team to provide top-quality care that is high- quality and advanced in technology treatments. As a leader, it is essential in aligning and building a team that has high-quality, evidence- based skills to provide: • compassionate to all in need • truthful and trustworthy when making promises: to their team members, patients, and families. • motivationally for continued learning • accountable to self and process improvements • owning their mistakes; putting in the work to make the right (transparency) • building partnerships; getting involved in unit, organization, and community organizations. My leadership philosophy relates to my current position and organization as the charge nurse/ manager of outpatient surgical services. It is essential to provide top- quality, evidence- based safe care to all those entrusting our organization to align their health care concerns no matter their ability to pay. Blake & Bacon (2020) write that nurse leader who exhibits a positive work environment develop staff engagement. Maykut, 2020 states that ethical behaviors are promoted through who we are, our personal beliefs of integrity, and structural organization and action. When patients and families are at their most vulnerable, it is the heart of nurses that have earned the trust in giving the best care and necessary information in getting them healthy. When partnering with the department and organization's team members through collaborating and interprofessional relationships, they help develop a holistic approach to their care. Trustworthy managers instill commitment and pride, which enhance the team's work retention. It is healthcare's goal to get patients to a level to return home and finish healing from their illness. Healthcare has the responsibility to improve its community's health by bringing the necessary education needed for detriments affecting its community. It is vital for being trustworthy and bringing an environment that listens to all people's needs and concerns in the organization by representing the organization's shared governance committee. Also, aligning its goals with the requirements of patients, families, and communities it serves ensures the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA). 4 Maykut, C. A. (2020, October).
