NR 547 Week 1 Discussion; Introductions

Sample from Course Professor Introduction Hello Class! Please allow me to introduce myself, I am Dr. Cindy Hollis Keene, and will be assisting you with your journey through this course. I have over twenty years of health care experience and am a doctoral-prepared, dual certified Advanced Practice Nurse. Currently board certified in Family Mental Health and Family Practice. I completed my doctorate training at Chamberlain University, Chicago, Illinois, Mental Health / Psychiatry training at the University of Kansas, Kansas City, Kansas, and Family Practice education at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, Missouri. My doctoral research involved the importance of positive sleep hygiene interventions and practice. I have completed several professional poster presentations at conferences, have presented at area conferences, and currently working on articles for publishing. Lastly, I have been providing advanced practice care for the past ten years. My experience includes a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, community mental health centers, acute care hospitals, telehealth, emergency/trauma / critical and remote care, and private practice. Professionally I belong to my local and state APRN organizations as well as AANP. Currently, I practice three days a week in a community health clinic and one day of telehealth practice with an emphasis on addiction medicine. In addition, I also work as needed in Urgent Care or Retail Health for a large health system in my area. Personally, I reside in Missouri in the country which I love. I live with my husband on our small farm. Unlike my husband, I LOVE sports, football is my favorite. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you and wish you continued success!
