Document Overview
hiring is so pivotal to an organization’s success. According to Michael Halpin “Recruiting with diversity in mind means recognizing the value that a diverse workforce brings to an organization. It fosters innovation, creativity, and better decision-making by incorporating varied perspectives and ideas.” (Halpin, 2025). This shows how diversity can lead to success. The next question I will provide is how to foster that diversity. 2. Give an example of creating a strategic diversity hiring plan to foster diversity in the workplace. A strategic diversity hiring plan involves proactive efforts to build a diverse workforce by actively seeking, attracting, and retaining candidates from all sorts of backgrounds. The plan should be integrated into all aspects of the hiring process starting from job postings and outreach to the interview and onboarding stages. To properly foster a diverse workforce this is something that needs to be engaged and implemented at every level. For example, a company might set a goal to increase the representation of women or ethnic groups in technical roles by 25% within the next two years and then implement strategies like targeted recruitment efforts at universities with a high percentage of women and ethnic groups in STEM fields and partnering with organizations that support these specific group of engineers. “Most women say a clear path to career progression is important at work and, in response, organizations are now developing personalized, modular development plans to foster future leaders and improve gender diversity in leadership roles.” (Leane, D. (2017). A plan is good to have but you must also be aware of your shortcomings that leads us to question 3. have seen is most companies have tunnel vision and are only dialed in on meeting quotas or hitting their number not on building the best group of people. The video went on to discuss how there are strategies for avoiding these pitfalls. The first was hire inclusively, the second was prioritizing hiring for the role rather than filling quotas, focusing on the quality of candidates over marketing and training in effective communication. That portion of this slide was my biggest takeaway train in effective communication which in my opinion is something management, leaders and corporations just don’t do enough of communication is the pinnacle of everything that business stands for communicating their culture communicating their direction so why not train in effective communication if you fail to get your point across than it doesn’t matter how strong the message is if nobody understands it. Overall, this Percipio course was enlightening and the takeaways that I did have will stay with me as I continue to drive towards my goals. What I have learned over these past weeks and this Percipio course seem to all harp on the same thing’s diversity, culture and communication, overcoming pitfalls will lead to business growth. Along the way, utilizing AI and knowing when not to rely on it will help build the skills that it takes to be successful. References
