Document Overview
provider has reviewed the risks and advantages of each recommended screening, the client will have the opportunity to determine whether or not they wish to proceed with the screening. When providing client education regarding examinations, providers at my clinical practicum site excel in their implementation of the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) in Health and Health Care and health literacy. They are always prepared to address any inquiries that clients may have, and they employ plain and succinct language when providing information about examinations. They ensure that the information regarding examinations is accessible to all clients by providing materials in multiple languages. Screening opportunities are often missed in vulnerable populations and those with limited access to care. What changes would you recommend in your practice setting and community to increase the frequency of preventative screenings within vulnerable populations? I would suggest that the frequency of preventative screenings within vulnerable populations be increased through the implementation of numerous modifications in my practice setting and community. Initially, I would suggest that outreach and education initiatives be intensified to ensure that vulnerable populations are cognizant of the significance of preventative care and the resources that are available. Secondly, I would suggest collaborating with local organizations to offer transportation assistance or child care assistance, thereby facilitating the accessibility of preventative care services to vulnerable populations. Third, I would suggest that vulnerable populations be provided with financial assistance to ensure that they can access the necessary care.
