WEEK ELEVEN ASSIGNMENT Week Eleven Assignment: Reassessment of Strengths and Opportunities Lori Bowden Walden University Prac 6568-27: Synthesis in Advanced Nursing Practice of Patients in Family Care Settings Professor Paul February 2022 Reassessment of Strengths and Opportunities Throughout the Walden University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program, I have had the opportunity to complete a total of four Clinical Skills and Procedures Self- Assessment forms. The first time I filled out the form, I thought in my head that it was a waste of time. Little did I know that I would grow to appreciate the form and utilize it as a tool throughout the practicum. I was able to utilize the forms during clinical as a form of communication between my preceptor and I. My preceptors were helpful because when one of their colleagues were performing a task that I have not seen before, they would let me observe so I was able to increase my knowledge and experiences. Kusnoor & Stelljes (2016) states that through shadowing, students achieve several interprofessional education core competencies and a broader perspective on patient care with shadowing being an effective pedagogical method for interprofessional education in the pre-clerkship curriculum. Conclusion The Clinical Skills and Procedures Self-Assessment forms have been beneficial to me as a nurse practitioner student. I am happy that I had the opportunity of having the list of clinical skills and procedures because it opened my eyes to the tasks that I should have exposure to be successful. Nayak (2018) states that understanding the importance of time management and skills in gaining it is very essential and for a student gaining mastery in this skill also helps in the development of a healthy and well- rounded personality. As I prepare myself to transition from a student to a practicing nurse practitioner, I will remain resilient with my learning, knowledge, and skills when providing care to my patients.
