Model Ra琀椀onal The model that I am going to use to for my company Fitbit is the Mckiney 7s. There are 3 main reasons that I chose the Mckiney 7s over the others. When Google bought Fitbit for 2 billion the deal took almost two years to basically get approval and make sure everything is alright and it all was done in 2021 so then google started pu琀ng Fitbit products into its own things. This kind of decision by both businesses a昀昀ects every organiza琀椀onal layer in the 7s idea at the same 琀椀me strategy, structure, culture, talent, and systems and only the 7S gets in a single go by. Also, other change models tell you the process or something like that the 7S gives you Fitbit's biggest problem which is them and google do not share all of the same values so some琀椀mes it can seem they are not on the same page at all. Also googles teams would use or look at a 7s so it makes my recommenda琀椀ons something that can actually be done instead of just throwing out ideas. Change Model Strategy: Googles pixel watch came out in October 2022 they added Fitbit's health and 昀椀tness features basically slowly showing the end of Fitbit devices google basically put Fitbit things on the shelf in 2023 and 2024. That was a big thing known internally but unknown to employees and customers. Structure: Before all of this Pixel, Nest, and Fitbit basically moved as their own things every one of them had their own teams for designs, hardware engineering, and so昀琀ware. Google moved more towards a more func琀椀onal model and having one leadership overseeing everything when Skills: Google is using Fitbit's technological skills and health data to lie and make their hardware look be琀琀er than it is speci昀椀cally with the Pixel Watch but the people that made the best hardware and designs were lost when google made those major layo昀昀s Areas of resistance There are many di昀昀erent resistance areas but the most important are Employee iden琀椀ty loss Fitbits sta昀昀 was very close to the health mission so basically google coming in and being just capitalist killed morale within the company. Also a lot of customers had concerns about their data privacy because google allows processing data to basically give you ads. So, they basically do not want their 昀椀tness data leaked just so businesses can give them the correct ads. Lastly Under googles ownership ”the Fitbit brand became a shell of its former self, with Google slowly chipping away at everything that made Fitbit dis琀椀nct since the 2021 acquisi琀椀on (Walker).” Recommenda琀椀ons Transparent communica琀椀on: Be honest with product releases and features instead of all the conferences and things mainly being about the leaked stu昀昀.
