Week 2 iHuman Assignment Re昀氀ec琀椀on Worksheet Please read the assignment guidelines and rubric. Respond substan琀椀vely to each self-re昀氀ec琀椀on ques琀椀on below. Write on this template. A. Assess your ability to gather informa琀椀on on your client within the iHuman Virtual Pa琀椀ent Encounter. 1. Use the iHuman score sheet to review your results for the focused health history and focused physical exam. How did you perform? My 昀椀rst a琀琀empt I received a 100% on the history por琀椀on and a 50% on my physical exam. A昀琀er the fourth a琀琀empt, I received a 100% on the history por琀椀on and a 83% on my physical exam. I think with experience, I was able to understand what iHuman was looking for and understand the logic behind why I received the scores that I did. A昀琀er some prac琀椀ce, I was able to pick up on things and use my cri琀椀cal thinking skills to see why we would be examining certain areas or asking certain ques琀椀ons. Having a virtual pa琀椀ent is hard to wrap your head around when you are used to looking at a pa琀椀ent face-to-face. 2. What did you 昀椀nd easy or di昀케cult about naviga琀椀ng through the focused health history and focused physical exam sec琀椀ons of the case? Naviga琀椀ng through the focused health history was not di昀케cult if you followed the instruc琀椀onal videos that were provided. This helped to give an idea of what to start looking for and how to arrange your thoughts in a produc琀椀ve manner. I did not use the health history notes because I found it easier to write my thoughts out and organize them in a way that I understood before typing them out on the iHuman pla琀昀orm. Using the mnemonic OLDCARTS helped me to organize the symptoms that were reported which were important, while also helping me decide what was not important. It is also important to understand per琀椀nent posi琀椀ves and per琀椀nent nega琀椀ves, so that I was able to note what was posi琀椀ve to the case and what was nega琀椀ve to get an accurate diagnosis. 0320 RB/KK 3. Describe one strategy to improve your performance in the next Virtual Pa琀椀ent Encounter. One strategy I plan on u琀椀lizing is reviewing the proper vocabulary and the proper ways of examina琀椀on. I 昀椀nd myself using simple terms when describing on my physical exam because I’m used to speaking with my pa琀椀ents about their care. This does not re昀氀ect well and will be a problem for me in my prac琀椀ce because another provider may read it di昀昀erently than I do. I think we get caught up in our rou琀椀nes and we some琀椀mes forget there is a proper way to listen. Reviewing the proper examina琀椀on techniques will help me have a smoother exam and have be琀琀er outcomes. C.
