2 Information Technology & Safe Staffing Technology is used in practically every aspect of healthcare today. Common technology systems like the laboratory testing, biometric medication administration, Electronic Medical Record system (EMR), document input, and interdisciplinary team methods of communication have all been implemented with the goal of boosting productivity and reducing errors (Melnick et al., 2018). Because technology has been utilized to manage a variety of healthcare difficulties, there are implications for employing it to address one of the major challenges, safe nurse staffing ratios. The technological implications, the impact of accreditation on personnel standards, and the impact of appropriate nursing workload rates on the standard of patient care will all be covered in this paper. Along with the application of the logical choice approach to facilitate the shift, regarding the ethical issues, and clinical leadership implications, a recommended use of the EMR to collect access to primary care and personnel data will also be discussed (Lo et al., 2018). Clinical Issue In the majority of today's healthcare providers, nurses are responsible for a wide range of tasks, frequently at great personal expense. Having to compromise competing priorities while working under consistently demanding circumstances might lead to feelings of overload or burnout (Green et al., 2019). These demands may impair a healthcare professional's capacity to treat other people. Institutions must provide assistance to nursing workers and deal with the root causes of burnout. Encouragement and population resilience development are unique ways to do this (Green et al., 2019). When there are not enough qualified nurses on hand, nurses take on 4 updated on a regular basis. Similar to the CERNER dashboard function, the prescription, paperwork, treatment, and specimen collection times for a job can be displayed on a timeline. A nurse manager can evaluate EMR data and make adjustments in advance of staffing needs. Studying the EMR's components can help unit assignments have less inconsistent medication administration and treatment schedules and more equitably divide patients with increasing levels of acuity, all of which can help reduce the risk of error, patient damage, and nursing exhaustion (Melnick et al., 2018). Trends in the data and the staffing pool can be analyzed and synthesized to provide evidence-based recommendations for staffing requirement modifications. Even while technology has improved healthcare delivery, its effectiveness depends on the changes it prompts. Research on healthcare information technology has revealed that if the workflow is ineffective, the results won't be as favorable (Melnick et al., 2018). Implementation When nursing leadership develops a quality improvement project, they can use decision- making models to guide the change process. Specifically, when implementing EHR modification for acuity and staffing needs, the Technology Solutions Model would be beneficial in meeting objectives (Esmaeilzadeh & Mirzaei, 2021). This model is objective and systematic, where the outcome is achieved by weighing options, choosing the best and least harmful approach, implementing the change, and evaluating the outcomes. Technology is practical with an end goal in mind, accounting for errors to help choose the best option with the
