Document Overview
Discussion Topic_ Week 6 Discussion The Advanced Practice Nurse and Clinical Scholarship For my future DNP practice change project, I would prefer a good scholarly peer-reviewed journal for publication of my research and project outcomes. I would prefer to use The Journal of Nursing Scholarship (JNS) over other peer-reviewed journals for publishing my research project (Gennaro, 2024). This journal is the official publication of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing that is a highly reputable peer-reviewed journal published in nursing practice and research. Selection of Journal of Nursing Scholarship (JNS) The Journal of Nursing Scholarship focuses on submission of scholarly works in the areas of clinical scholarship, health policy and systems, profession and society and world health that align with all areas practice change initiatives often seen in DNP projects (Gennaro, 2024). The mission of JNS is to advance knowledge that improves the health of the world's people. JNS is most interested in receiving manuscripts that provide new knowledge designed to improve nursing practice globally (Gennaro, 2024). The journal’s international readership ensures that research disseminated here reaches a wide audience, including clinicians, educators, and policy influencers. Why JNS is an Appropriate Choice Compared to other professional journals like the American Journal of Nursing or The Nurse Practitioner: The American Journal of Primary Healthcare, JNS focuses on the use of evidence-based practice and clinical scholarship that form the center of DNP projects (Sigma Theta Tau International, 2024). Unlike journals that focus on broader nursing or policy concerns, JNS places a strong focus on healthcare outcomes and innovation in practice, which are key components of a DNP practice change project (Sigma Theta Tau International, 2024). This makes it an ideal publisher for disseminating practical and scholarly findings that can directly influence nursing practices. The JNS’s emphasis on international perspectives allow my work to contribute not only to local or national nursing practice but also to global healthcare solutions (Sigma Theta Tau International, 2024). This reach differentiates JNS from more narrowly focused journals that prioritize local or niche professional issues. Author Guidelines and Submissi
