Document Overview

Week 7 Discussion: Disseminating the DNP Project A Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project's dissemination guarantees that the study findings have an impact on pertinent clinical practice and healthcare outcomes outside of the practicum context. The dissemination venue would maximize the project's reach and impact for my DNP project, which would concentrate on implementing a nurse-led patient navigation program to shorten the length of stay (LOS) at Doctors Memorial Hospital, a Critical Access Hospital (CAH). The Journal of Nursing Scholarship (JNS), which was recognized as a preeminent peer-reviewed journal that closely matches the goals and results of my project, will be one suitable platform for sharing this work (Gennaro, 2024). JNS is a respectable worldwide journal devoted to research and practice in evidence-based nursing. JNS is a great place to share nursing-led interventions like my patient navigation program because it is the official journal of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and has a large readership that includes educators, clinicians, and policy makers (Sigma ThetaTau International, 2024). Research papers that center on clinical scholarship, health policy, and healthcare outcomes—all of which are essential to my project's objectives—are accepted by JNS. My project is in line with JNS's aim to publish research that promotes nursing practice and global healthcare since it focuses on improving patient outcomes through decreased length of stay (LOS) using a nurse-led intervention. My project's focus on CAHs will broaden the scope of healthcare research because these facilities frequently deal with particular difficulties like scarce resources and increased readmission rates. Because of JNS's global reach, this study has the potential to be applied not only in underserved or rural U.S. hospitals but also in other places where comparable issues occur (Sigma Theta Tau International, 2024). Additionally, JNS's focus on clinical outcomes and nursing practice innovation makes it a suitable venue for demonstrating how nurse-led initiatives can result in observable enhancements to patient care and hospital operations. One of the biggest gatherings of nurse practitioners in the United States, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Annual Conference, is another appropriate platform for distribution (American Association of Nurse Practitioners, 2024). Projects involving nurse-led initiatives, especially those with evidence-based outcomes that can impact nursing practice, are ideally suited for presentation at the conference. The conference's emphasis on advanced practice nursing would align with my study, which directly entails a nurse-led intervention meant to improve patient outcomes. Healthcare professionals from a variety of specializations attend the AANP Annual Conference, which offers a forum for exchanging innovations and best practices (American Association of Nurse Practitioners, 2024). My proposal would fit in nicely with the conference's topics, which frequently center on evidence-based care models and practice improvement. In addition to helping spread the results to a large number of medical experts, presenting my findings at this conference would create networking opportunities for potential future partnerships and the use of comparable strategies in other healthcare settings. Sigma Theta Tau International's internet portal, the Sigma Repository, is another possible distribution channel. Research
