Project Manager Roles and Responsibilities: Project Planning Student Name Chamberlain University College of Nursing Week 3 Discussion: Organizational Needs Assessment [Session] 2026 Project Manager Roles and Responsibilities: Project Planning My proposed Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project aims to determine how implementing a Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet will reduce incidences of uncontrolled hypertension among patients diagnosed with high blood pressure and under hypertensive medications in a primary care clinic. Successful project implementation will necessitate developing an implementation plan that includes the project team and their roles, the required resources, and the project milestones (Irfan et al., 2021). The purpose of this discussion is to detail my implementation plan, explain how I will gauge the project’s success, and describe my role in managing the project budget and resources. Detailing my Implementation Plan The project will be implemented through six main steps within 12 weeks. The first step, already executed, involved project initiation activities such as identifying a practice problem and appraising evidence to support the gap and the intervention. The primary research article selected from literature to support the intervention is a case-control study by Kenmoue et al. (2023), accessible at https://doi.org/10.1017/jns.2023.67 The second step will involve identifying and seeking necessary approvals, including permission from the practicum site’s key decision-maker and approval from the Chamberlain University Institutional Review Board (IRB) committee. After obtaining approvals, the third step will entail forming a project implementation team comprising the DNP student, mentor, and nurses in the first week of the implementation phase. During the team formulation, the project manager will be selected, and roles will be assigned to the team members. In addition, the project team will recruit participants based on a specified inclusion criterion and issue consent forms to ensure voluntary participation. The fourth step after recruitment will be executed during the first week; it will involve training participants on the DASH diet and collecting baseline data on the number of incidences of uncontrolled hypertension using the facility’s electronic health records (EHRs). The fifth step will entail continuous training on the DASH diet from week two to week 12. The sixth step will involve collecting post-implementation data on incidences of uncontrolled hypertension and analyzing the data to evaluate the intervention’s impact during week 12. How I Will Gauge the Success of the Project Successful DNP projects leap to a change that impacts patients or health care outcomes, demonstrate implementation in the practice field, including outcome evaluation and a sustainability plan, and provide a foundation for future research or scholarship (Wright et al., 2022). Therefore, one of the strategies I will utilize to gauge the project's success is statistically analyzing data to determine whether the intervention impacted health care outcomes by reducing incidences of uncontrolled hypertension in the practicum site. In addition, I will monitor outcomes to assess whether the project’s goals/objectives and the facility’s expectati
