NR 711 Week 8 Reflection; Learning and Practice Readiness

P u r p o s e The purpose of this discussion is to reflect on your own readiness to practice as a DNP- prepared nurse and consider what you learned in this course and how this knowledge will impact your practice. I n s t r u c t i o n s Each week, you have been reminded that reflective inquiry allows for expanding self- awareness, identifying knowledge gaps, and assessing learning goals. As you reflect on your own readiness to practice as a DNP-prepared nurse, it is important to consider what you learned in this course. As you review the course outcomes and your experience in this course, address the following: Analyze and evaluate how your thinking was challenged in this course related to project design and beginning your manuscript writing process. Considering this new knowledge, examine how this learning prepares you to practice as a DNP-prepared nurse. All, What a short eight weeks this has been in our first practicum course! However, I feel this is the course I’ve been waiting for to help alleviate some of the stress involved in the DNP project. This practicum course challenged and engaged my thought process to form a step-by-step flow for designing and managing my project, making the project conception more attainable. The breakdown of the manuscript allowed me to consider several components of an implementation plan in a systems-thinking mindset. In addition, this course provided discussions and Let’s Check In sessions to promote student support and facilitate scholarly information, which is proven to help students feel more prepared (Murphy et al., 2018). This learning prepared me to practice as a DNP-prepared nurse by ensuring I am well-versed in a multicomponent environment and can consider stakeholders, opportunities, weaknesses, barriers, and practicality of a change practice project.
