COMP 150 WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT MICROSOFT WORD? MY FAVORITE FEATURE DOUBLE-CLICK ANYWHERE My favorite feature Double-click anywhere on a Word document and start typing A textbox does not have to be created first. This feature can be used to insert graphics, brainstorming or creating a mind map (Beck, 2016). Bullet list Create a numbered bullet list by typing the number 1, then a period, then a space. After typing text, press Enter, and Microsoft Word will continue numbering. Word will stop when you hit Enter multiple times. Examples of Bullet list: Example Example Example Example Example Example NEW FEATURES I LEARNED I learned: How to apply Themes and customize my document How to using a picture or other symbol for a bullet-point FEATURES I THINK ARE MOST IMPORTANT AND WHY Outline View Features Select the View tab, then click Outline “It is useful for: • • • • • Large documents, Reorganizing headings and text blocks, Jumping to a specific point or heading level, Making quick drafts, Quickly formatting headings” (Basu, 2019). MY FAVORITE FEATURE STYLES Styles: I like being able to quickly change the type to different styles such as Title, Headings, Normal, etc. You can also customize the styles or create a new style. This helps me to organize my documents faster. HOW TO CUSTOMIZE DOCUMENT Design Tab Choose Themes, colors, styles for paragraphs and fonts. “Themes are a collection of paragraph and character styles” (Lansche, 2016).
