This announcement is an Annual Program Statement outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting funding requests. Please read this document carefully and follow all instructions. This notice is subject to availability of funding. Program Objectives: Strengthening our international partnerships on cybersecurity is a top priority for the United States. The world faces enormous cybersecurity challenges from both state and non-state actors. It is critical for the U.S.-Japan Alliance that both nations play a leading role in enhancing cybersecurity cooperation to address shared threats while promoting secure connectivity and a vibrant digital economy. The Embassy welcomes proposals that address cyber security issues in Japan by developing innovative strategies to foster improvements to both public and private sector cybersecurity capacity- building efforts; this may include programs that promote cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development globally to address current and future cybersecurity challenges, as well as Internet freedom. Furthermore, the grantee should focus on promoting public-private cooperation in cybersecurity. All programs must engage Japanese audiences. All proposals must include a U.S. element or connection with U.S. expert(s), organization(s), or institution(s)that promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and deepen bilateral cooperation. ELIGILIBITY INFORMATION The Public Affairs Section encourages applications from U.S. and Japan. Individuals and registered not- for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations with relative programming experience, are encouraged to apply. For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply. Cost sharing is not required. Pre-award costs are not an allowable expense for this funding opportunity. Applications may be submitted for consideration at any time on or before the closing date of this funding opportunity.
