Answer: There were many factors that motivated me to ultimately enroll in the Master’s degree program in nursing. I have always had the intention to further my degree and earn my Nurse Practitioner degree with the purpose of opening my own family practice. It will permit me to be more autonomous in my nursing practice, and to provide patients with a holistic care approach which allows for a collaborative relationship between patient and provider and is associated with increased patient satisfaction and positive patient outcomes (Kinchen, 2021). Another factor that motivated me was the fast-growing career path. Although as previously mentioned, my goal is to have my own practice, the options for a nurse practitioner are vast. If opening a practice were not an option for one reason or another, there are many other paths I could choose, such as education, administration or even informatics. There would surely be another direction I could go that would provide the flexibility I need for my family. It is a degree that provides numerous options. At Chamberlain University there are many resources available to support student success in the MSN program. The CU library is a remarkable resource that contains a vast collection of clinical resources, that include scholarly journals that can be used during assignments. Another resource that I will surely utilize is the Writing Center. This can assist in all aspects of writing a professional essay or report. It provides writing tools and can aid with APA formatting. The Writing Center even offers an essay review service that students can use to check grammar, spelling, formatting prior to turning in their assignments. Finally, I believe the SI Tutor is an excellent resource, especially for beginners in the program. The tutors make themselves available to students for questions or concerns, in an attempt to alleviate any confusion with upcoming assignments, and/or expectations. The tutors are also available for 1:1 session which I think is beneficial for students that cannot attend the live sessions. One self-care strategy I intend to use to enhance my resilience during my journey in the Nurse Practitioner program is to take time each week away from class work and spend uninterrupted time with my family. Spending quality family time helps rejuvenate my mind and spirit, and overall improves my mental well-being. Another strategy I plan to implement is setting small goals for myself to refrain from becoming too overwhelmed. I will do this by scheduling specific daily tasks
