The value of studying humanities in the healthcare field is to be a well-rounded practitioner. Without the study of humanities, we would just be going based off factual evidence. When in the healthcare field not everything is black and white. with humanities judgment can be based off something other than scientific evidence. As practitioners we take an oath to do no harm to patients. As I read my scholarly Journal, I realized that not every school across the United States takes the same oath. There are variances of oaths that schools take. According to Alexander and Lauris (2018) “Physician Charter can help improve the ethical content and consistency of oaths across different institutions, and throughout their education medical students should be encouraged to discuss and reflect on the principles and virtues they will profess when they graduate.” (p. 826) I believe this effort will help minimize confusion making sure everyone is on the same page no matter what school what state we're all taking the same oath How might a topic such as art, literature, music, dance, etc. from other time periods enhance your career and personal life in the present? I believe that any art form has a very large influence on our personal life and our careers. Listening to a sad song before going to work when you're in a sad/bad mood just enhances that sad/bad mood but listening to upbeat happy song while you're sad can possibly change that mood. For me personally I do see or hear other art forms such as art, dance, and literature but the one that affects me the most is music. When I say listening to music and change your mood I suppose that is only for me and might not be for another person. Music from this time along from any other time depending on it's melody can either enhance my mood or depress it. Select one aspect of the humanities that is meaningful to your personal life and one for career. Explain how is each meaningful. For my personal life I choose paintings/creation to express emotion or even to relax my mind put me in a world that is not here. Painting/creations are very meaningful for me I live a very busy lifestyle and it can get very overwhelming at times to have something to go to when your mind needs a break is very satisfying.
