Week 3: Art Creation & Reflection – Sculpture, Painting, or Drawing Student Name Chamberlain University College of Nursing HUMN 303 Due Date Introduction As we are currently learning art is amazing and something that we still withhold from the past. It is amazing how much a simple drawing, sculpture, model, painting, and even structure can tell us about the past, present, and even the future. Art is inspiring for any individual even for individuals who have minimal interest in this hobby. Personally, ever since I was in elementary school the picture of the Mona Lisa would constantly show up and it happened to stick in my head. I noticed that every time an individual mentions art I think about this painting. Inspiration Piece As displayed on the Right side of the paper is the piece of artwork that I chose for my inspiration piece. This piece of artwork is “an oil painting on a poplar wood panel by Leonardo da Vinci, probably the world’s most famous painting” (Britannica, 2022). This piece was created between the periods of 1503-1519 when the artist resided in Florence. This piece of art is not located in the Louvre Museum in Paris. This piece of artwork was created due to a “request by the subject’s husband, Francesco Del Giocondo” (Brandon, 2013). The Lisa family was popular and well-known throughout their residence in Tuscany. Mona then married a wealthy silk merchant Francesco Del Giocondo. Mona’s husband requested this painting to help celebrate the birth of their second son. My Art Piece As you can see the image that I created is not as inspirational to the audience.
