Document Overview

2. What are the patient’s signs and symptoms for this diagnosis? How does the diagnosis impact other body systems and what are the possible complications? 3. What are other potential diagnosis that present in a similar way to this diagnosis (differentials)? There are a few differential diagnoses that present in a similar way to endocarditis that I would look into to rule them in or out. This would include intra-abdominal infections, Lyme disease, and reactive arthritis. Reactive arthritis has similar symptoms to endocarditis including joint pain and a rash on the soles of the feet and palms of the hands. Lyme disease symptoms that are similar include fever, headache, and muscle and joint pain. Intra-abdominal infection symptoms that are similar to endocarditis are fever, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue.
